CrimeSpotter is a communication platform that connects active citizens, residents, security companies, CPFs and the police. It is designed to allow open sharing of local incidents for better crime prevention and planning.

It is a data aggregator to build a central database of trending crime. Information is public and provided freely to citizens, security, emergency services and the police.

Your crime reports are shared publicly. Incidents can also be reported anonymously.
Crime information gathered is freely available to all parties for better resource planning and prevention.

Always use existing emergency sevices in your location to report any incidents first and then only report on CrimeSpotter to alert other users nearby. CrimeSpotter cannot guarantee any response times or service expectations.

CrimeSpotter is a data aggregator. We map the incidents on Google Maps and deliver alerts via push notification and email. Incident reports are also shared to Facebook and Twitter and may appear elsewhere when shared by other users. Data is provided by users of the system and are unverified before displaying live.

The data is supplied by users of the system and as such are not official reports and are unverified. User content is made public as submitted. You may report any incidents you find untrue and harmful. We will remove any reports that violent our terms of service.

The goal of CrimeSpotter is to record crime information and share alerts for improved crime prevention and policing.

The data made available here has been supplied by our users. CrimeSpotter does not make any claims as to the completeness, accuracy of any data contained in this application; including representation of any kind, including, but not limited to, warranty of the accuracy or fitness for a particular use; nor are any such warranties to be implied or inferred with respect to the information or data furnished herein. The data is subject to change as modifications and updates are completed. It is understood that the information contained is being used at your own risk. The sources for the reports are supplied by users. The alleged perpetrators of any incidents have not necessarily been tried or found guilty of any crime.

We believe in protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personally identifiable information that refers or relates to our users. Our commitment to is clear: We do not sell, license or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party without your express consent and will take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of personally identifiable information you provide to us.


LOCATION – The app will ask to use your location to for crime reports. Your location is used to simplify the crime reporting process and to display relevant information near your location. No other purpose.

PERSONAL INFORMATION – Your email and/or mobile number are used for sign-up and for log-in purposes. This information is not public and is only visible to app administrators. You may choose to make contact information available to other users on your profile to promote your business or organisation. Personally identifiable information is not contained in a report unless you choose to manually add this in.

REPORT DATA – Submitted reports are available to all users for the express purpose of sharing information. Data may be shared, studied or used at your discretion. Reports are shared on social media platforms, emails and also on Whatsapp.

You are responsible for your use of the services and for any content you provide, including compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. You should only provide Content that you are comfortable sharing with others.

Any use or reliance on any content or materials posted via the service or obtained by you through the services is at your own risk. We do not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any content or communications posted via the service or endorse any opinions expressed via the service.

You understand that by using the service, you may be exposed to content that might be offensive, harmful, inaccurate or otherwise inappropriate, or in some cases, reports that have been mislabeled or are otherwise deceptive. All content is the sole responsibility of the person who originated such content. We may not monitor or control the content posted via the services and, we cannot take responsibility for such content. We reserve the right to remove content that violates the user agreement.

You represent and warrant that you have, or have obtained, all rights, licenses, consents, permissions, power and/or authority necessary to grant the rights granted herein for any content that you submit, post or display on or through the service. You agree that such content will not contain material subject to copyright or other proprietary rights, unless you have necessary permission or are otherwise legally entitled to post the material and to grant CrimeSpotter the license described above.


You retain your rights to any content you submit, post or display on or through the services. What is yours is yours. You own your Content (and your incorporated audio, photos and videos are considered part of the content).

By submitting, posting or displaying content on or through the Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display and distribute such content in any and all media or distribution methods now known or later developed (for clarity, these rights include, for example, curating, transforming, and translating).

This license authorises us to make your content available to the rest of the world and to let others do the same. You agree that this license includes the right for CrimeSpotter to provide, promote, and improve the services and to make content submitted to or through the services available to other companies, organisations or individuals for the study, syndication, broadcast, distribution, study, promotion or publication of such content on other media and services, subject to our terms and conditions for such content use.

Such additional uses by CrimeSpotter, or other companies, organisations or individuals, is made with no compensation paid to you with respect to the content that you submit, post, transmit or otherwise make available through the services as the use of the services by you is hereby agreed as being sufficient compensation for the content and grant of rights herein.


CrimeSpotter has an evolving set of rules for how partners can interact with your content on the services. These rules exist to enable an open distribution with your rights in mind. You understand that we may modify or adapt your content as it is distributed, syndicated, published, or broadcast by us and our partners and/or make changes to your content in order to adapt the content to different media.

You will not and agree NOT to: Use or attempt to use the CrimeSpotter system for any illegal, abusive or unethical activities as determined by us in our sole discretion, which include by example and not limitation, transmission of illegal pornographic material, invasion of privacy, defamation, infringement of another person’s copyright, trade secret, patent, trademark or other intellectual property rights or harassment.

We have the right in our sole discretion to determine whether any particular conduct is an acceptable use. In cases where we determine you engaged in conduct that you reasonably believed did not violate this policy in good faith, we will block your access to the service.

You need to create an account to use our services. You are responsible for safeguarding your account, such as using a strong password and limiting its use to this account. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with the above.

You can control communications from the services. We may need to provide you with certain critical communications, such as critical announcements and administrative messages. These communications are considered part of the services and your account, and you may not be able to opt-out from receiving them.
